HEAT-STRENGTHENED GLASS
What is Heat-strengthened Glass?
Heat-strengthened Glass is a type of glass that is processed with thermal or chemical treatments, which increase its strength. The process of tempering leaves the outer surface of glass in a state of compression, and the interior in a state of tension. Due to these mechanical stresses, tempered glass breaks into granular pieces instead of shards with sharp edges, reducing the chance of injury.
PRODUCT FEATURES OF HEAT - STRENGTHENED GLASS
Strength: The strength of Heat-strengthened Glass is 2 to 3 times compared to the normal glass; or has a compressive stress of the surface from 24MPa to 69Mpa.
Safety: According to US standards, Heat-strengthened Glass is not considered safety glasses. However, it has good strength and safer than ordinary glass.
Heat resistance: Heat-strengthened Glass has good thermal stability, can withstand thermal shock up to 300 °C.
