TEMPERED GLASS

What is tempered glass?

Tempered glass is a type of glass that is processed with thermal or chemical treatments, which increase its strength. The process of tempering leaves the outer surface of glass in a state of compression, and the interior in a state of tension. Due to these mechanical stresses, tempered glass breaks into granular pieces instead of shards with sharp edges, reducing the chance of injury.

PRODUCT FEATURES OF TEMPERED GLASS

Strengthening: The strength of tempered glass is generally 4 or 5 times that of ordinary glass; or the compressive stress of the lower surface is greater than 69 MPa.

Heat resistance: Good thermal stability, can withstand thermal shock up to 300°C.

APPLICATION

Tempered glass is a safety glass log and is widely used in places where required high safety, such as glass, windows, partitions, and curtains that have heat sources and are resistant to heat shock...

Heat-strengthened glass has been subjected to a heating and cooling cycle and is generally twice as strong as annealed glass of the same thickness and configuration.
